colonel Posted August 15, 2024 Share #1 Posted August 15, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Just plugged in my new D-Lux 8 to a USB cable, and no light anywhere indicating charge. If I plug the in when it is on, a message comes up asking me to switch off. So it does detect the charging cable. Is that right ?

Le Chef Posted August 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted August 15, 2024 What does the user manual say? It may have changed from DL-
colonel Posted August 15, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted August 15, 2024 3 minutes ago, Le Chef said: What does the user manual say? It may have changed from DL-7 As far as I can see the user manual doesnt mention a charging light in the charging or any other section However it mentions this in a trouble shooting FAQ in the appendix: "Charging pilot light is on, but battery isn't charging" This could be a mistake. or not ..... Le Chef Posted August 15, 2024 Share #4 Posted August 15, 2024 Assuming there is some intentional copying of the Q3 charging approach, the charging light should come on when you charge. As I think you’re in the UK, is your power socket switched on?
colonel Posted August 15, 2024 Author Share #5 Posted August 15, 2024 (edited) Solved took it back to Leica shop and they discovered after testing that the battery was faulty. They gave me a new battery and it worked fine. There is a blue and green led on the back which indicates charging Edited August 15, 2024 by colonel
gharel Posted August 19, 2024 Share #6 Posted August 19, 2024 There is a green light in the bottom right which will blink while charging and stay on after reaching 100%
mhoutman Posted August 23, 2024 Share #7 Posted August 23, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) IMHO the manual is terrible on the rear led. They even forgot to number it in the parts picture. Led has different functions: (blinking and continious) blue: Bluetooth FOTOS app green: charging red: saving photo’s, starting up, errors Quick start manual as to be downloaded here https://leica-camera.com/en-int/photography/cameras/d-lux/d-lux-8/downloads does not include all languages mentioned https://leica-camera.com/sites/default/files/pm-110209-439-299.001-013.pdf BTW if you want to order a manual in print and scan the QR code on your Quick start guide as enclosed in the box, here https://order-instructions.leica-camera.com the D-Lux 8 is not even mentioned 🤷🏻♂️ Edited August 23, 2024 by mhoutman
spiritflare1 Posted May 16 Share #8 Posted May 16 It doesn’t say in the D-Lux8 manual . I am quite surprised by this oversight . however if you search around and as others have said - the rear LED turns blue when Leica photos app is connected or using Bluetooth ; and it turns flashing green when charging, and solid green when charged. I have attached my photo below during charging (it is actually flashing ) Welcome, dear visitor!
