Just rounded out my new dream kit (M10-R, 50mm Summilux, 28mm Elmarit).
Now I’m touching things up with the little extras and supplies, including protection/clear filters.

For my Canon gear my go-to has always been B+W. So I got the thin (007 MRC) chrome version for my 50 Summilux. It’s ok, but not ideal since the lens cap doesn’t fit securely with the thin version. So that may be a do-over.

Now I’m looking for something for the 28 Elmarit that just arrived. I’m cautious here since the rim should probably be a specific thickness to make lens cap or lens hood fit right (can I say that the plastic rectangle cap for the hood is a joke?)

I could just go and spend the 150 bucks on the Leica UV filter which I’m sure is the right fit - but I’m not really too keen on spending that much on a (made by a third party) “Leica” filter - and I don’t really get why they only sell UV filters (not necessary on digital) and not clear filters.

So I’m back to B+W or perhaps Heliopan. And yes, I know that none of this makes any difference and that I should be outside taking photos (well, it’s dark now…).
