TOM CADWALADER Posted July 28, 2024 Share #1 Â Posted July 28, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I shoot video frequently and would like to record my stills to the SD card and the video to CFe card. Â Far as I can tell...I can't do that. Â Is that a correct assumption on my part?
Advertisement Posted July 28, 2024 Posted July 28, 2024 Hi TOM CADWALADER, Take a look here Record to CFe vs SD. on SL3. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
LocalHero1953 Posted July 28, 2024 Share #2 Â Posted July 28, 2024 I don't have a SL3, just a SL2-S, but I use profiles. My user profiles for stills duplicate files between the two SD cards (SD1=SD2). My profiles for video are to record to SD1 and then to SD2. You might want to explore profiles similarly for the SL3. Oh, and welcome to the forum!

Jonathan Levin Posted July 29, 2024 Share #4  Posted July 29, 2024 On my SL3 video is recorded to the CFe. I don’t recall if I initially set this up that way.

Thanks I should add that I have never intentionally shot both stills and video to the same cards without reformatting. Video is a separate activity to photography for me; when I go to record video, I start with freshly formatted cards, and the same each time I go out to take stills. I have always assumed that the camera would not overwrite previous files when I change the saving pattern. If you are going to intersperse video and stills in the same outing, I suggest you test my assumption first!
