Lens Hood for SL 35 f/2 ASPH

I apologize if this has already been debated. I searched the forum with no luck.

I recently bought a used SL Summicron 35 F2 ASPH, but it was without a lens hood.

I found the lens hood part number, which should be 16055 according to this web page https://leica-camera.com/en-AT/photography/accessories/lens-hoods/lens-hood-for-sl-lenses-35-f2-50-f2/

I’m wondering whether it is necessary or not and if a general-purpose screw mount one, i.e., a 67mm thread tulip or rubber could be good.

Any comments or experience to share?
