Knarf Posted July 11, 2024 Share #1 Posted July 11, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Day 2 in Namibia, tried to use macro and discovered that the macro ring would not turn all the way. Removed filters etc which had no effect. Didn’t check it before leaving UK so not sure if it was working before I left. Assuming that it’s a return to Germany for repair, what’s the best way of returning it? Does any know rough repair times and cost? What are the chances of being offered a Q3 ( was going to upgrade anyway)? Thanks in advance for any advice. Frank

SirBlunder Posted July 23, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 23, 2024 Hi there. I dropped my Q2 in Feb of last year and posted about it on these forums. That post is linked below. To answer some of your other questions based on my experience: - I sent mine to Leica USA with help from my local Leica store (where I bought the camera) who then sent it to Germany - My repair was about ~$600 - They sent me a "free" loaner that exactly matched my spec (standard Q2). I asked for a mono version (why not?) but they said they typically do not loan out different models. And if they do loan them out, it's based on availability, so YMMV - Total timeline was, I think, about three months. They're very slow. Good luck!
