Issue formatting CFE card on SL3

Wondering if anyone is having issues formatting the CFexpress card on the Leica SL3.  I'm receiving the error "This CFE card was formatted by an external device and cannot be used".  In addition, the camera does not give me the option to reformat and hoping someone has any insight on this issue.

I have experienced this only once using Mac ISO utility and erasing  CFexpress card similar to a SD card The SD card formatted successfully using the utility disk , I just formatted again in the SL3 and all is fine, Not sure why but fixed,

Hi I got the same error message today inserting a new cf card. I was able to format the card. Try inserting just the cf card no sd. Then go to format and see if it lets you format it. Then do the same with the sd card.

The cf card I used on the SL3-s is Lexar express pro B  SILVER 1750. I received that alert in the camera but I hit OK and was able to format the card. I’ve been told by Leica USA tech that the Lexar silver is discontinued. They are using the Gold version. I’ve ordered a Gold cf and will try and see.
