ManSter420 Posted July 2, 2024 Share #1 Posted July 2, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) SO I took both of them which I purchased few weeks ago to try them out. I practiced focusing and get to know the right exposures in different light/shading and etc inside since I got them but I must say, outdoor shooting is just totally different. No tripod. All standing and since it was 102 degree out today and my polarized sunglasses didn't help using RF so yes, it was pretty rough situations. Tried to shoot few with pin-point focus, used Visoflex2, only with VF (I prefer this since it was faster for me to use), close focus, shoot things further back etc. It was fun and somewhat made me think this is giving me challenges which is quiet motivational(?) that is reason why I did not take my Q3 today. I am luckily retired 42 yr old with lots of time for myself so that's how I found Leica. It didn't give me the results I wanted in the beginning but, feels like I am getting there slowly. Advertisement Posted July 2, 2024 Posted July 2, 2024 Hi ManSter420, Take a look here Took my M11 and M11M outside for the first time to shoot. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
DadDadDaddyo Posted July 2, 2024 Share #2 Posted July 2, 2024 (edited) Hang in there! Practice, practice, practice! Practice indoors at night using vertical edges. Practice outdoors using leaves or blades of grass. Practice focusing on something other than the main subject that seems to be about the same distance away. Practice focusing on a spot your moving subject is expected to move into. Practice getting to focus on one move, starting from Infinity, instead of always going back n' forth n' back n' forth... It's the old New York story: the visitor asks the New Yorker, "Can you tell me, please, how to get to Carnegie Hall?" The New Yorker's reply, "Practice, practice, practice!" Jeff S Posted July 3, 2024 Share #3 Posted July 3, 2024 Btw, using the Viso is not RF practice. Jeff
andybarton Posted July 3, 2024 Share #4 Posted July 3, 2024 If you turn the camera to take a shot in portrait mode and you are using the Visoflex not the rangefinder and you are wearing polarising sunglasses, you might find that the screen goes entirely dark. It took me a while to realise what was going on when I was using Liveview on my M240 when I first got my polarised varifocal glasses.
