Bryan Goh Posted June 29, 2024 Share #1 Posted June 29, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Had the Q3 for over a year. Recently decided to start taking some videos and the camera started freezing non stop. Even after restarting and pulling the card (v90). Message to turn camera off and on again also pops up sometimes. After restart, the camera will freeze after a couple of seconds or when trying to take a photo. Have to let it rest for a few hours before it works again. it’s not over heated. Left it alone for an hour and tried turning it on again, but still freezes and unable to take a photo. Think an hour might not be long enough for god knows what to happen internally. Very frustrating. Anyone experienced this? Fw2.0.3 Welcome, dear visitor! pop Posted June 29, 2024 Share #2 Posted June 29, 2024 Have you tried using a different SD card, or at least re-formatting the card? Does the manual contain an explanation for that message?
coleica Posted June 29, 2024 Share #3 Posted June 29, 2024 I have not had your experience. In your position, a new SD Card/reformatted card, as suggested in the previous post, also resetting the camera. Finally, taking the batteries out for a minute or two. Those would be the easy/quick things to do. Otherwise, it might be time to send it back to Leica for repairs or maybe another member might have more/better suggestions. Changing cards to another V90 card etc. seems like when quickly rushed to turn off wifi on the camera before it freezes would solve the problem. might be a 2.0.3 bug. I’ve always used wifi for fotos app without any issue. This whole situation made me seriously consider trying the A7CR. The Leica premium is might not be worth it for me w regards to the Q3. Though I guess it was never meant for video.
Le Chef Posted June 29, 2024 Share #5 Posted June 29, 2024 Does it freeze equally on video and stills?

It will freeze 3 seconds or so after turning the camera on. Will try to not use video / wifi for afew days and report back.
