I have quite invested in both nice setup of m and sl. The m10 and sl2 will last for many years, and afterwards, when mine die, second hand market is/will remain plenty.

So, not upgrading for sure. The gas need for an edc will be fulfilled with another brand (if I want it).

And Leica should focus on things getting right with current problems before new releases anyway. Too many problems to focus on.

I just want to comment that I personally had 0 issues with both the silver m11 and the m11-p. I've been shooting the silver m11 since it released and purchased it directly from my local Leica boutique corporate store. Recently, I traded in the m11 for the m11-p black (because its lighter) and have been using it for almost 4 months now--0 issues and recently did the firmware update with no issues there either. I've used them everywhere from coast to coast and also an international trip to Japan and I've never experienced a hiccup my month there. I'll be doing more traveling in Sept with the m11-p for some back-to-back weddings and I suspect I won't have freezing issues people are talking about. I also think that goes for a lot of users (unknown %, probably the majority?) who are happy with their m11/m11-p and they don't feel the need to post that they're happy with their purchase and I think that's being underreported. As a long-time lurker on these forums I kind of fall under that category and I have several friends (approx: 5) that ALSO shoot on the M11 bodies with their Leica glass and no issues either. Small sample size but just saying, that's 100% of people I personally know that have not encountered freezing issues.

Anyways, I happened to read through this thread looking up things on both the Lumix S9 and the Q3 because I wanted to do research on opinions before I hit the buy button (on either one). I just wanted to say that as of right now...it is currently available to order directly from leicacamerausa. I know because I literally just ordered one just now (they say a picture is worth a thousand words, so here's the proof ;)) to complement my M11-p when I want autofocus/weather-sealed body but still retain that "Leica look". Anyways, I've settled on sticking to the same ecosystem and put the Lumix S9 on hold due to too many compromises. Thanks for reading my essay
