jaifo Posted December 4, 2007 Share #1 Posted December 4, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Off Topic- Light meter for SWC: Gossen Sixtomat Digital or Sekonic L-308s -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I need a hand meter to use with my Hasselblad SWC. Mostly used for travel and hand held architecture photography, i use it as a wide substitute of my m6+35cron. Till today, i used to carry both cameras and use the m6 meter, but sometimes i want to carry my SWC alone... Must have incident/reflected functions and be convinient to carry. Also, as i intend to use it indoors (cathedrals...), is the battery non-dependant Sekonic L-398A Studio Deluxe III useless? Thank's for your help! Advertisement Posted December 4, 2007 Posted December 4, 2007 Hi jaifo, Take a look here Off Topic- Light meter for SWC: Gossen Sixtomat Digital or Sekonic L-308s. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
giordano Posted December 4, 2007 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2007 Between the Sixtomat and the L-308s I'd probably pick the Gossen: from the specs it's a couple of stops more sensitive, has a narrower field of view in reflected-light mode (25% vs 40%) and has a larger incident light hemisphere. The L-398 is a classic but in cathedrals and the like you'd often find yourself at or below the bottom of its sensitivity. I'd rather use a Weston Master or Euromaster, which is much more sensitive in reflected light mode and has the best incident light attachment. But for cathedral interiors the best thing IMHO is a 1 degree spot meter. For that sort of interior, though, I'd prefer to use a 1 degree spot meter
rubenkok Posted December 5, 2007 Share #3 Posted December 5, 2007 Hi Carlos, For portraits I juse the Gossen Digipro F and it works perfect. I have tried also the Sekonic L-308sn the Gossen feels more solid! Gossen Digipro F: acceptance angle for reflected light 25° The Gossen: Meas. range ambient light at ISO 100/21° EV - 2,5 to + 18 for incident & reflected The Sekonic: Measuring range Ambient light: EVO to EV19.9 (at 0.1 EV step) Hope this is some help Regards, Ruben
