Hey folks, figured because we don’t have a dedicated image thread to this lens, I’d create one. I’ve been a huge fan since purchasing the lens, having gone from the Ultron II (I had the tight lens mounting issue on all three I tried), to the Elmarit ASPH II, and now to this lens. I find it performs excellently on film, without vignetting even wide open (maybe it vignettes less on film?), better built than the Elmarit and even more compact. I’ll kick it off with some recent photos (note, the contrast is my edit/the way I develop, not due to unruly lens contrast!):

Really? V1 or V2

The review here says the opposite, that it has "high vignetting".

Really really. I have the Type 1 M-Mount version (brass, black paint, 0.7m focus version), and I just… do not see strong vignetting, even wide open on film. On digital, vignetting isn’t really a problem in the same way… it’s very easy to correct for. But where it would matter (film), I don’t see any major loss of exposure in the corners. I was truly worried about it, tbh, but the lens has exceeded all expectations. I really cannot imagine why someone would buy the Elmarit at this point, and I was a die hard Elmarit fan. And it’s just so much cheaper to replace if something happens to it.

Thanks for the info. I may get a copy as well if it is indeed smaller than elmarit. Which film are you using btw?

It’s quite a bit smaller than the Elmarit. I really like the ergonomics as well. The metal hood and cap included is also a nice bonus.

I primarily shoot Ilford FP4 (to me, by far the best B&W film stock) shot at 200, developed in DD-X using the Filmomat Light and Jobo tanks.

Another (small) update: I’m considering purchasing it in silver chrome on brass as well, just so I can have both colour ways (and a backup). I… really love this lens haha

Most lense tend to vignette less on film. However, vignetting is less visible on negative film because underexposure tends to manifest in dull shadows rather than visibly darker depictions.

would love to buy this lens as it is super compact.

How lose is the aperture ring? Saw a video where they said it is a bit lose. (compared to my 35mm ultron and 50/1.2 nokton)

I do not find the aperture ring loose on my 28mm Color Skopar at all (I have the brass 0.7m close focus one). Can’t speak for the other types version though.

I have had this lens for over a year, and it is always the one "by default" on the camera. Tiny, very light and great.
