Take what you have; take what you enjoy. Whatever you take, there are more than enough scenes/people/situations to more than fill the time and cards/films of whatever camera and with whatever lens you take. All this of course assumes that you are not doing a 'project' or on assignment.

Last year in spring we took our granddaughter to Greece, mainly the islands and since showing her and letting her explore the place was more important than our trip, I took 2 m43 cameras and the Olympus 12-100 and Laowa 15. As usual, excellent results, not FF Leica, but excellent in their own way. 6 months before that we went to London, Alsace, Northern Germany and Wetzlar for the LSI conference. An M10M with 21, 35 and 50 served for most of the trip and was augmented for colour by an m43 camera with the Olympus 12-40. In Iceland and Ireland the year before I took two Leicas and lenses 16-90. On the other hand, on a recent trip to Australia and New Zealand I took two m43 cameras with 4 lenses to 200mm and TCs, as there was wildlife.

In film days I trekked in Nepal for 20 days with 2 Leicas and 4 lenses, a Mamiya 6 with its three lenses and a Noblex 150 with a Gitzo tripod (and the porters didn't get to touch any of that). And of course film. Lots of film. In the Canadian Rockies I hiked with 4x5 cameras or a full Mamiya 645 outfit. I can't do that now and don't want to, but I certainly don't regret it.

Take whatever is your passion and what you are comfortable with. I love going out with the M10M and a 35, but sometimes the lights not right for B&W, so I take colour. Very occasionally I even break down and take a FF 'SLR like' mirrorless system. It's OK.
