With a lot of interest I read your post about your light equipment and come to the conclusion that if I ever have the time to make the next step in enriching my photography I will put my focus on portable light equipment. Thank you very much for sharing your experiences and thoughts about the Q3 with us! That’s very nice of you to say. Let it flow, do the thing that you enjoy. It took me a long time to work that out. 8 minutes ago, Le Chef said: Thanks Andrew - these are great shots and inspiring for those of us who shy away from using flash or light boxes. I'm still gun shy after spending 3 days photographing loose diamonds many years ago. Move one diamond and it goes black. Move in another way and another diamond goes black... Your pictures of Assynt are still the gold standards for me when it comes to landscapes, and I go back to them to simply marvel at the subtleties you manage to capture. Her Ladyship and I are doing a lap of Scotland in the Autumn and will be visiting Skye which we both looking forward very much. The Q3 will be the lone piece of camera equipment on that trip... You’re in for a treat! Thanks for remembering my Assynt photographs. If you need any help with your Scotland visit, please let me know by personal message. I will be very happy to share locations and ideas (and superb restaurants!).

Tobers Posted June 14, 2024 Author Share #22 Posted June 14, 2024 Well that’s nice. Mike has published my review on Macfilos: https://www.macfilos.com/2024/06/14/leica-q3-a-one-year-review-photographing-the-people-of-skye-by-night/
Caul Saul Posted December 19, 2024 Share #23 Posted December 19, 2024 Thanks for posting this review, @Tobers. I realize I'm replying quite late, but I'm curious: I realize you wrote that the X100VI is more portable. Do you ever find anything missing about its images (quality, color, etc.) compared to the Q3? Thanks.
Tobers Posted December 19, 2024 Author Share #24 Posted December 19, 2024 The Q3 is superior to the X100VI from an image quality perspective, so if I was looking for the best quality image and portability wasn’t an issue I’d use the X100VI. However, I sold the X100VI and bought a Ricoh GR3X HDF which is a beautiful little camera, even MORE portable than the X100 series, and a little gem. It is now my go-to travel camera when I pack really light, which is most of the time. It really does fit in a trouser pocket.
