Bedot Posted May 25, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 25, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I'm trying to connect my SL2-S to LrC or Capture One 2022 but I can't get it to work. In the camera menu I have selected “Mass Storage”. I'm using - a TetherPro USB-C cable. - Capture One 2022 - LrC (Abo) - Leica SL2-S Firmware 6.0.0 Neither program can find the SL2-S. Can someone tell me how to connect my SL2-S to LrC or C1? Thank you in advance for your help, Best regards,

Photoworks Posted May 26, 2024 Share #3 Posted May 26, 2024 Mass storage is an option to read the card from the computer as a card reader. there will be not tethering this way. Try using a PTP connection. Capture one should connect quickly. Make sure you take out the card before connecting. SD cards are responding to slowly on the Mac to make a connection resulting in a time-out failed connection. If you really need the card make sure it is empty and formatted before connecting, but that will slow the image transfer to the computer. if you disconnect the cable you need an empty card again.
Bedot Posted May 27, 2024 Author Share #4 Posted May 27, 2024 Thank you frame-it & Photoworks! I finally managed to connect my camera to LrC and C1 by removing the SD cards and setting the camera to PTP. However, on LrC, I can't access Live View when the camera is connected. You figured it out quicker than I did 3 years ago. Great forum! Edited May 27, 2024 by hansvons
loverofthelight Posted May 27, 2024 Share #6 Posted May 27, 2024 My experience with SL2 and SL3 tethering is that tether pro cables don't work properly. You should check Area51 cables or Cobra tether. Currently I am using this one https://www.area51tetherco.com/product-page/moonbeam-xl-pro-usb-c-right-angle-to-usb-c-right-angle-tether-cable-9-5m-31ft And it works flawlessly. Before I was using tether pro and I had a lot of problems. I am always using the latest version of Capture One.

I use Capture One and live view works on the computer and iPad versions. If I remember correctly LrC does not support Live View. but maybe there was un update that I have missed. Bedot Posted May 27, 2024 Author Share #8 Posted May 27, 2024 Yes, I have the impression that Live View is not possible with the SL2-S in LrC. Although Live View works in LrC with my old Nikon D7100 from 2013...
