ihw Posted December 3, 2007 Share #1 Â Posted December 3, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Im not sure if this should be in the digital forum or the film, but here goes! Does anyone have experience of scanning images with Vuescan (using Minolta Scan Elite 5400) in raw mode and then converting them in Capture One LE? When I try to do this C1 doesn't recognize the file and no image appears in the preview screen. I have also tried to open the raw DNG file in PS Elements 3 but a message comes up to say that the file type is incorrect. I assume from this that my Vuescan output settings are wrong, or that neither PS or C1 can open Vuescan generated raw files. Any help would be much appreciated. Advertisement Posted December 3, 2007 Posted December 3, 2007 Hi ihw, Take a look here Vuescan and Capture One LE. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
wparsonsgisnet Posted December 3, 2007 Share #2 Â Posted December 3, 2007 Ian, I haven't mixed VueScan and C1-raw, but it sounds like VueScan is writing a raw file that C1 cannot read. Â Unless another VueScan user here has info for you, you may wish to save the scanned image as a TIFF and use PS (or whatever you use) to deal with the image. Â You can do many image manipluations inside VueScan. Â Good luck,
HaraldL Posted December 3, 2007 Share #3 Â Posted December 3, 2007 Ian, Â There has been a version of Vuescan that could produce dng files. I can't find it any more in my current version. I tried that once and was able to do some editing in PS raw converter. I did not find that very useful. Maybe Ed Hamrick just added that option for commercial reasons, to provide a file that would allow editing in just introduced and hyped Lightroom.
