parigby Posted May 17, 2024 Share #1 Posted May 17, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Looking for help in trying to identify which Elpro close up filter (if any ) will give me a magnification factor of +10 ? I know l can get a Marumi +10, but would prefer to go down the Elpro route if possible. Thanks in advance.

parigby Posted May 17, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted May 17, 2024 I have the Elpro 3 and the Elpro 4 : the Elpro 3 appears to give greater magnification than the 4. I am looking to improve upon the magnification of the Elpro 3, but need guidance as to which Elpro l should be looking for.
spydrxx Posted May 17, 2024 Share #4 Posted May 17, 2024 You could stack the 3 +
01af Posted May 17, 2024 Share #5 Posted May 17, 2024 Elpro 4 is +0.74 dpt (f = 136 cm) Elpro 3 is +1.64 dpt (f = 61 cm) Elpro 1 is +2.44 dpt (f = 41 cm) Elpro 2 is +4.76 dpt (f = 21 cm) Elpro 52 is +7 dpt (f = 14 cm) The magnification factors depend on the the combinations of Elpro plus master lens. For the same magnification, a shorter-focal-length master lens needs a stronger close-up lens (i. e. higher diopter number). To get higher magnification with a given close-up lens, use it on a longer-focal-length master lens. When stacking close-up lenses then their diopter numbers will add. Do not stack more than two. Screw the weaker close-up lens on the master lens first, then the stronger close-up lens on top of that.
