Is it a Leica glitch or Capture One ? I had 2 cards in each body, it seems if I take out the Type B card, it works on it's own & I left the SD in, must somehow break a software issue somewhere!! THANK YOU !!!!! THANK YOU!!!
Photoworks Posted April 21, 2024 Share #4 Posted April 21, 2024 it is usually an issue with MacOS that takes a long time to connect to the SD card and times out the connection... If the card is empty it works fine. but the CF express is faster and for me, it was still connecting ok with 3k images on it.
RPKEYE Posted April 21, 2024 Author Share #5 Posted April 21, 2024 If I leave out the SD & just use the CF Type B will it still happen, or take everything out & connect once I put both the cards back in, which is what I just did & it works! Thank you for the solution, I'm so relieved!
albireo_double Posted April 21, 2024 Share #6 Posted April 21, 2024 It's been the same with the SL2. Usually just taking one SD card out was fine with that camera. This "trick" has been mentioned on this forum many times.
Blkhorse Posted August 12, 2024 Share #7 Posted August 12, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I've rented an SL3 for a shoot this week and just got it, only to discover that it is not consistently connecting to Capture One. It was connected and successfully shot some test images, but when I powered off and went to use it again, it will not reconnect. I have tired taking the cards out, C1 is up to date, and checked accessibility on my mac which is seeing the camera and also granting C1 access (the computer is a newer cheese grater, on latest OS). It is frustrating because it was working earlier and now nothing. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Any help is greatly appreciated
Photoworks Posted August 12, 2024 Share #8 Posted August 12, 2024 unplug, the cards out, and try a different port on the computer. Make sure the cable is working
ErikW Posted October 9, 2024 Share #9 Posted October 9, 2024 I have been having similar issues when using an SL3 and previously an SL2 shooting tethered to COP. I have found the connection (since switching to Leica) to be unreliable, drops out constantly, requiring cycling down the camera, restarting the software multiple times. I never had these kinds of issues shooting with Canons. However, I have anecdotal evidence that other people using Canon cameras are having similar problems. I am wondering if it is a COP software issue, a leica issue, or a Mac software issue? Does anyone have any thoughts? Oh and before anyone says take out the card, I've been doing that for years. I use to have the same problem when shooting tethered to COP with my Nikon D4 years ago.
Photoworks Posted October 9, 2024 Share #10 Posted October 9, 2024 I shoot the SL2 and SL2 tethered all the time on Capture One and COp for iPad. No issue. Just use a good cable and look that there is no other programs trying to connect to the camera at the same time the deal of taking out the card is so that the Mac doesn't time out trying to read the card. If the card is empty you can still connect with one card in. On reconnect just put in a fresh card.
Alvin Greis Posted October 18, 2024 Share #11 Posted October 18, 2024 (edited) I shoot with Canon R3 before switched to SL3 - all of CO issues are the same (using MacBook M2). Tried different things but the most reliable for me is SL3 connected to iPad M4 with tethering cable and Leica FOTOS (wifi works faster but sometimes disconnects). Capture One Mobile also doesn’t work with my setup. Edited October 18, 2024 by Alvin Greis

To avoid these issues follow the suggestion above. i have been shooting with SL3 tethered for the 4th day now and is rock solid for me.
