Q3 Footer Line Information

Checked the manual, checked the wise world of Google/GoGoDuck, and searched in this forum but could not find out what is the information displayed in the far right side of the footer line in the EVF.  In Play mode, it displays the total number of images taken, got it.  But in shooting mode, before pressing on the shutter, it displays "1k" and if I partially depress the shutter button, it displays "L 64".  Is "1k" the number of images I can still take based on my resolution settings?  Cannot figure out what the "L 64" means.  I am talking image and not video mode.

FWIW, searching the Q3 manual, all it says about the footer is "Header with recording information, footer with exposure information, auxiliary display".
