IanS_? Posted April 14, 2024 Share #1  Posted April 14, 2024 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) Hello, I have noticed a darker band on the left hand edge of some scans of Ilford XP2 400. To try and rule out the scanner I have taken an image of the negative using my phone. It can be seen as a light band. Was either f8 or f11, overcast day I am not sure how the light sensitive chemicals are applied to film and where this is to be expected, or whether it may be a consequence of developing. Didn't record the shutter speed ! Any thoughts ? Welcome, dear visitor! As registered member you'd see an image here… Simply register for free here – We are always happy to welcome new members! Borna Posted April 15, 2024 Share #2  Posted April 15, 2024 I can't see anything special, although maybe my eyes are untrained. Do you mind circle it for more visibility?

PCPix Posted April 15, 2024 Share #5  Posted April 15, 2024 (edited) Shutter needs a service. Do you recall which shutter speed you used? This is more likely at 1/1000 or 1/500. Might be ok to use at lower speeds until you get around to getting it serviced. Shoot a sequence from 1/1000 down and see which negs have the ‘shading’. Definitely not a processing error (edge markings are all ok) Edited April 15, 2024 by PCPix
