edstock Posted April 3, 2024 Share #1 Posted April 3, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Since Leica decided to kill off one of its best cameras in some years, my opinion, I don't worry about service. Batteries come to mind. I must admit I have not looked for any, but I wonder if they are still available? I bought three shortly after I bought the CL. We all know that the Leica battery for the CL does not last particularly long in the field. I take a minimum of two, one in the body, one in my pocket. Just a random thought. danielfrimley Posted April 3, 2024 Share #2 Posted April 3, 2024 (edited) Should be OK for some time, it’s the same used for the original Q and V-lux - see Leica UK still stock it, and there are several 3rd party alternatives recommended by members of this forum which I don’t imagine will all go away anytime soon 🙂 Edited April 3, 2024 by danielfrimley
wda Posted April 3, 2024 Share #3 Posted April 3, 2024 It is widely used in Leica and Panasonic cameras. So I would not worry unduly.
tommonego@gmail.com Posted April 3, 2024 Share #4 Posted April 3, 2024 They were batteries made for Leica, Panasonic and Sigma cameras, Panasonic ans Sigma batteries are made in the same factory as Leica's, I still have the two Leica batteries that came with my CL over 5 years ago, they are starting to show tyheir age. I bought 2 Sigma BP-51 which are the same batteries that have worked well. Early on I decided that 2 battereis weren't enough and bought a pair of third party batteries that didn't last very long, They were cheap and came with a small 2 battery USB charger that works well so not a total loss.
