FWIW, I think I can duplicate this problem.  Setting functions and activating them with the FN1 button works perfectly (and is a great feature.)  One can bring up a menu of possible settings with FN2 but regardless of what is chosen they will not "stick."  I do not believe this is related to the Q3's 100% "lock-up" issue I've reported elsewhere here on the Forum -- but I'd have to say if Leica cannot resolve these issues, well ...

Yes, and before it is asked ... Yes, I have read the manual.  ;<)

Ok.  I just did a quick experiment with my Q3.  When I saved one item in a function key and saved it to one profile.  I changed the item in the same function key and saved it to another profile.  When I toggle the profiles, the function key changes to the items that were assigned for each without any problem.   So, the functionality is working perfectly in my Q3.  Hope this helps.

@ksrhee  That is helpful.  TU.  What I see is that FN2 does not behave as FN1 does and the function cannot be saved and recalled.  These tests were done with no change in profiles.

This is super-disappointing -- as the risk of understatement.  I can deal with it (unlike the "lock-up" issue which makes me never want to trust the Q3 again) -- just means part of the advertised functionality does not exist.)  Again -- thanks for for the test!

Since it is working for me as it is supposed to, you might want to get your unit checked.

@ksrhee I agree -- that would be a relational solution and your test is very helpful.  Unfortunately, the lock-up issue has been well documented and there appears to have been no response from Leica on that matter.  I sent them an e-mail today to confirm.  While I love the images this camera produces I think the rational solution may be just to sell it.  It's been in my hands less than 30 days and to send it off -- to "somewhere" -- probably not.  Again -- TU.

New problem, maybe?  I used User1 all day called "Day".  Inexplicably, +2/3 on Exposure Comp just dropped out with my not touching that or any other User Profile.  Noticed it over dinner.  And I changed the back dial to ONLY Exposure Compensation with +2/3.  Honestly, can't figure out what's going on but I know I'm getting shots I don't want.

Fn igrates for me to WHITE BALANCE always after a time in USER1 on the Q.  Can't get rid of it.  NEVER selected; NEVER used WB on ANY camera I've ever owned.  There are several other choices, I change it to what I need, and it goes WB after a time.  I read another commentator on here call the Fn button useless on the Q; others swear by it.
