Here is a shot of the silver version as well if anyone is/was interested.

It is prohibited to call it Kevlar now. Lots written on the forum. Wertzlar now cautiously calls it "Aramid". No joke. As the owner of last M10-P Reporter made in the entire Universe and Beverly Hills I feel kinda sorry for anyone getting these M11-Ps. Not only will they possibly have freezes and corrupt DNGs (hoping for the best, fingers crossed), the camera's aramid skin will start to fray after a year or so, just like on the reporters. As an owner of the M10-P Reporter - i have had issues with the "SD error" appearing. So waiting to take it to leica to get a logicboard replacement or whatever needs replacing/ Are there any tips on how to maintain the Aramid coating? Cleaning it? I see some have replaced it with a conventional leather skin at Leica.

I see some have replaced it with a conventional leather skin at Leica. According to Leica, it's designed to fray somewhat and provide better grip. It's not a material made to look good. I used to clean mine with a damp microfiber cloth gently dabbing at aramid fiber. The fiber is supposed to fade to a green color over time, but what you see first is a grey tint due to the fiber's texture collecting dead skin cells and dirt.

Al Brown Posted April 23, 2024 Share #31 Â Posted April 23, 2024 Yes, the story was a durable but fadable skin (Aramid frays a lot in some cases) and durable reporter green paint (which brasses faster than any black paint MP/M10-R, I own both to compare). If your skin seems too frayed you can contact Leica for warranty replacement.
