I am flirting with picking up an SL2 to round out my Leica equipment. I can't quite put my finger on why I would do this other than increasing my choice of lenses and, possibly, increasing my ability to do extreme close ups.  Kinda cave man: "Leica good, more Leica better." So... please share opinions & facts. I've been using Leicas from IIIf through the current digital M's. Over 50 years now that I think about it.

I have a M10-R and an SL2 with assorted M and L lenses.  I love shooting my M lenses on my SL2 because of the in-body image stabilization, the enhanced viewfinder, and programmable buttons to toggle close-up focus assistance and perspective control.  I am on an extended trip in Europe now, and I brought only the SL2, the Elmarit M 28mm f/2.8, Summicron M 50mm f/1.4, and the Leica L 24-70 f/2.8.  I have only used the 24-70 twice in a month; the rest only the M lenses.

The 50 & 28 are standards, indeed. I didn't know that in-body stabilization worked with adapter mounted lenses. I'll have to check it out.

Thanks.
