geddon_jt Posted March 14, 2024 Share #1 Posted March 14, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone, question for those who know. I know the M11/M11-P can tether wirelessly to a phone or iPad running the FOTOS app. I have avoided using the FOTOS app before but maybe it's time to see if this works with my workflow. Couple questions: 1. Is it dumping the DNG files both to the iPad AND the camera at the same time? Can this be changed? 2. If you go through the photos on the iPad/iPhone, can you star the ones you want, and if so does the camera sync somehow to the ones you star? I'm trying to figure out how to quickly star the keeper photos but have those starred photos readily available for a subsequent LR or C1 import, as I do not want to edit photos using the FOTOS app. I am hoping there is a workflow that looks something like this: Tether the M11 to FOTOS --> Do a shoot, then go through FOTOS to star the ones that might work --> Find a way of easily dumping the shoot (with the star metadata) into either LR or C1 to process Any help or insight would be appreciated. I don't own a M11 yet, but this is something I want to understand more fully before pulling the trigger. Thanks! John

Photoworks Posted March 15, 2024 Share #2 Posted March 15, 2024 The Fotos app does not download any image in the tether preview. Only show the preview refresh as you shoot. In the case of M11 wireless is faster. There is no editing in the Fotos app. You can browse images from the camera, give them a star, and download a few or all of them in DNG or JPG. Editing is done in other apps. C1 on the iPad downloads every image very quickly (2-3 sec). the camera has to be set to "tether" and have USB-C 3 cable. When the camera is set to tether you can no longer save to the card at the same time.
