Hi all! Just curious, is this something to keep as one of a kind Leica MP or should I send to Leica? The camera will make the same photos of course. Just wondering if My MP is made in Ermany unique or others have this engraving mistake

There are some in Germany who claim: “Germany is abolishing itself.”
We may be seeing the beginning of that here. Letter by letter is omitted. Hopefully all the screws are in place inside....

Assuming it is the original top plate, no way would I send it back to Leica.  They might decide to replace it, and in the process might depreciate the value of the camera.  Unless, of course, the camera is some kind of Chinese knock-off.  :)  j/k.

Not worth sending it back to Leica, sometimes they come back with new damages. A famous saying …“If it ain’t broken, don’t fix it”

however you can always exchange it if it bothers you for a new one assuming you purchased it brand new.

Yes I bought it brand new in November 2023  but I don't think Leica would exchange it for a new one
