Hey there!

I am planing on grabbing this used lens for 2800$

I haven’t bought a Leica lens yet so I wanted to make sure I check the lens the right way before buying.

What should I look out for? Also how’s 2800$ for this 35mm summilux 11663 FLE v1?

3. Diaphragm blade oil (absent!)
4. Smoothness of focus
5. DECENTERING! - shoot wide open at infinity and check all 4 corners
6. RF coupling
7. Overal sharpness and chromatic aberration (CA) wide open - if it has been dismantled, it should have been put together properly to standards. My former 35 FLE was showing way too much CA because of a repair performed on it. My brand new silver one has extremely little CA SOOB.
8. Signs of screwdriver on back bayonet screws
9. Visible dents - a sign of hit/fall

Thank you, Al. Very informative. Would you be hesitant to buy if you saw an oil spot on the inside rear element?
Blades look ok. Can that gunk be cleaned?
Thx

Mark
