Manicouagan1 Posted March 9, 2024 Share #1  Posted March 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) On the SL3 some discussions of autofocus performance suggest that performance is a function of how specific lenses or the settings are set.  In the DSLR world autofocus was normally done by a dedicated sensor with the aperture wide open.  On the SL3, is the aperture stopped down to the shooting setting for focus.  Similarly, is the camera is calculating focus from the sensor data after applying the gain on the sensor that used for imaging or something else.  Do some camera modes change how the autofocus works?
