The first month with Q3 is over. My enthusiasm for this camera has increased a little every day. It is the ideal complement to my Nikon Z9 and I use it every day. My expectations were fully met.

I added some accessories:

Bag: Wotancraft 3.5L

Carrying strap: Artisan & Artist ACAM-310n (the original leather strap was too inflexible for me)

Protective bag for transport in a backpack together with other equipment: Artisan & Artist ACAM-75

Trigger button with an O-ring: Panzong

I hope everyone has the same fun I do with the Q3 and may the light always be with you,

kind regards,

Peter

I didn't think I'd part with my Q2, but I bit the bullet and traded it in for a Q3 for a few reasons:

1. Better sensor and lowlight performance. Higher MP leading to better ability to crop in post, which has come in quite handy.

2. Video capabilities when I don't want to carry my A7S III with me

3. Flip screen to capture my infant from lower angles without having to lay prone on the floor with her

Things I miss about my Q2:

1. Reporter color scheme -- not a big deal

2. Button layout on the rear and specifically how the directional pad felt. Q3 buttons are a bit smaller and if I'm wearing even thin gloves in the cold I sometimes mis-hit buttons.

I traded up for some of your reasons.  But what I miss the most is the mature firmware of the Q2.  It just worked.  No issues.  I hope that Leica will get to that point with the Q3.  In the mean time I will grin and bare it and enjoy the new sensor and tilt screen.

I have a Q2M and love it except for the occasional AF misses, depending on lighting, and not having the option of longer reach, and tilt screen for street. I need a color Leica, but I'm nervous about having two Qs as pretty much my total kit.
