S2 & 006 sensor replacement no longer available

I have been told by Leica Customer Care that:-

"Sensor replacements for Leica S2/S(006) are no longer available. An exchange is the only option we have."

Oh! So... my dead S2 can only be used as: a) a super cool paperweight, or b) go towards an exchange. In exchanging my dead S2 I could get the below options for the prices listed:-

"Leica S 007                                               3.361,00 EUR net

Leica SL2 + 160-75 S-Adapter L             4.773,53 EUR net

Leica SL2-S + 160-75 S-Adapter L          3.708,82 EUR net"

I was after the 007 which comes fully refurbished with packaging and accessories. However, because I have a GFX100S as my main camera I managed to get an S2-P off mpb which has already had a new sensor fitted (I checked with Leica first!). Regarding the non-corroding sensor, I was told by the same Leica representative that:-

"The sensor of this camera has been replaced in June 2016. We started installing the new sensor in February 2016."

Interesting stuff.

I think I had my CCD Monochrom and S2-P sensors changed just before then 😞
