dchatter Posted November 25, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 25, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi Guys! My dear 50 Summicron has, I fear, sustained some severe injuries in a fall (with me on top of it) at Central, Zurich. The focus-ring which would normally rotate with buttery smoothness is now tight and almost rigid. Could anyone point me to a shop where I can get it checked/repaired in Zurich? Best regards, - Debasish.

michael friedberg Posted November 25, 2007 Share #2 Posted November 25, 2007 Could anyone point me to a shop where I can get it checked/repaired in Zurich? . I would stop by Ganz at Rennwegstrasse 26, which is about 5 minutes from the train station. A very experienced and extensive Leica dealer, which presumably could help you. Good luck,

Swann Posted November 26, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 26, 2007 Ganz is a fine and reputated Leica dealer in Zurich. But they certainly won't repair no camera and no lens. Defective items will be sent to Leica Switzerland in Biel. This is something you can do yourself, no detour with a dealer is necessary. If you want a professionals advice and help, go to Walter Baumgartner, Limmatstrasse. It's a small repairshop and very experienced in Leicas. Best of luck Christoph

Photon42 Posted November 27, 2007 Share #8 Posted November 27, 2007 they've done CLAs for two Nikon F2s for me. Nice people, really. Fixing the shutter of the second F2 didn't last as long as I wanted it, but well ... I'd see them again, I guess. Claudio Fabio sounds good, too. He has cleaned my AiS 50/1.2.
