UKBROOKLYN Posted January 9, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 9, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hope someone can help me out here. The film counter dial on my M2 is quite loose. I have removed the advance lever and made sure that the dial is correctly seated, but it is still not tight. Looking at Fig: 21 in the M2 Service manual there appears to be a spacer (# 9 in the fig) that goes between the underside of the lever and the top of the dial. Looking at various online videos none of them show this piece. There was no spacer on my camera either. The felt washer that sits below the the dial is pretty thin now, one assumes shrinkage over the decades. So 2 questions. 1. Is that spacer missing or does it not appear on some models. 2. Would replacing the felt return the required friction to the dial. And if so where might one source a new felt washer. Thanks in advance for any help on this. Mute-on Posted January 9, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 9, 2024 Yes, there is a fibre disc, as discussed here …
UKBROOKLYN Posted January 9, 2024 Author Share #3 Posted January 9, 2024 (edited) The only disk/washer described in the linked post is the felt washer that sits/glued to the top plate. I see no reference to a fibre disk. And in the video it is clearly missing. Fig 21 of the M2 service manual clearly shows a "spacer" Edited January 9, 2024 by UKBROOKLYN
