piblondin Posted January 8, 2024 Share #1 Posted January 8, 2024 Advertisement (gone after registration) I like having exposure compensation set to -1, but while it works fine in aperture priority mode, it doesn't work well for me in manual mode because engaging the meter always brings up the -1 exposure compensation reading before showing me the meter. This slows down my shooting process in a way that I find unacceptable. Is there any way to disable to exposure compensation display? If not, I supposed I'll just turn exposure compensation off and manually meter everything.
Advertisement Posted January 8, 2024 Posted January 8, 2024 Hi piblondin, Take a look here Hide Exposure Compensation?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Bikie John Posted January 8, 2024 Share #2 Posted January 8, 2024 I'm not sure why you would want exposure compensation in manual metering mode. For an auto mode it makes sense, as the meter is telling the camera what to do. But in manual mode the meter is telling you what it thinks you should do and it is up to you to interpret that in the light of the subject, your exposure preferences etc. So unless I have misunderstood your question, it sounds as though your suggestion of turning compensation off and doing it manually is the best bet. John I'd prefer to have one setting and be able to seamless switch between M and A using the shutter speed dial.
