brucek Posted November 22, 2007 Share #1 Posted November 22, 2007 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have my Lightroom database on an external drive so that I can move it between my iMac and MacBook Pro. I want to be able to create Collections and add to and/or delete photos that are in the collections. But when I move the hard drive from one Mac to the other the Collections and their contents do not follow the drive. Is there any way to make this work? Thanks! ckthual Posted November 25, 2007 Share #3 Posted November 25, 2007 You have to create a new collection on your external HD. Or export your existing one. It means the LR file .lrcat will be on the xt HD with the pictures and you will be opening the lrcat from this drive. You may also use the export function. ckthual Posted November 25, 2007 Share #4 Posted November 25, 2007 Edit : By collection, I meant catalog + if your pictures are already on your ext HD, your can try to simply copy or move you .lrcat file to your ext HD and open it from there. I should be working for a few second to relocate all your files on your HD.
