When I got my second hand Q2, it came with this (well just about the same)

https://uk.urth.co/products/the-duet-filter-kit?currency=GBP&variant=40045160759461&stkn=6e3a62414a4d&tw_source=google&tw_adid=&tw_campaign=17610284812&gad_source=1&gclid=CjwKCAiAp5qsBhAPEiwAP0qeJipFR7J-crdREc5hed7gGQ5iB9wLnCu59MPpbUtAlakwMeDVKrDZ_RoC43AQAvD_BwE

How does it attach to the front on the Q2 lens (with lens hood removed for course)? It looks very flush and I do not want to risk scratching the lens.

Not sure what ‘just about the same’ means… but:

Assuming it is the right diameter ( 49mm) just carefully screw each of the filters into place. They are standard filters — they won’t scratch your lens glass unless you accidentally bang them into it.

I would suggest getting a filter wrench (just a cheap plastic one will do) in case they are hard to remove. I would not stack those two - just use one or the other—there isn’t a lot of room under the Q2 lens hood but one should fit.

Urth filters seem ok but they are still aluminium and can jam if tightened too much (I have a couple of ND filters).

The UV filter is a general protection filter- not really for breakage, more for sea spray or stuff sticking to your front element. Better to clean a filter than a multi thousand dollar lens! 😜

Circular polariser filters are a pain to use with the hood on…

The filter caps are a nice addition 🙂

Well I went for it. And it does fit onto the lens without any other attachment - I was scared it was lying/rubbing against the lens glass.

However, I have only ever use filters in a lens holder so I can turn the CPL in the holder. I suppose I need to turn the Gobe CPL filter while it is attached to the lens. Hope not to turn it too far and it falls off !!

I rarely use filters but am going on a landscape workshop next month. I sold all my Fuji GFX kit to get the Q2 as I am no longer really interested in landscape work. But my mate is trying out a workshop so trying to help him out. So might fire off a few snaps with the Q2

But over the years I have used filters less and less and do image blending or LR edits. That is apart from ND filters. I do not really like longer exposures of water to make them creamy/milky/smoothed out. Spending money on good glass I want everything crystal sharp and misty type images do nothing for me. On my OM-1 I have built in ND so have used that if really needed for explanation purposes - and it works very well indeed.

Ta for the help.
