Hi :) Can anyone advise please? I am considering investing in a SL3 or SL2 (possibly both) to  replace my quintet of Canon 5dsr bodies. I have all 5 of the Canon tilt shift lenses (17, 24, 50, 90 & 135) but am struggling to find any real world reviews of using them on Leica S bodies. Also, what lens/body adapter would I need to buy? Any and all assistance would be greatly appreciated:)

I use the Novoflex SL/ EOS adapter on my SL 601 which enables use of aperture priority when using EOS TS-E lenses.

With my Panasonic S1R I use the Sigma MC-21 which enables use of aperture priority when using EOS TS-E lenses and should also work with the SL-2

Not sure that the canons can be adapted, or would work, for the S3. The latter because of the image circle.

I use a Mamiya 645 shilft, and a Leica 120 ts.  Neither would give you the wide aperture of the Canon 24 ts (which in the S3 would be 19 mm in full frame equivalent).

I have seen very recently (abe camera) that a new canon 5D IV costs about only $1500. Why bother?

There's a reason why those cameras are heavily discounted. Canon's EOS system is a dead-end. They have moved on to their R mirrorless system. The original question is from someone who already has old EOS bodies.

To answer the original question, you'll need Sigma's MC21 "EF-L" mount converter. Sigma also sells a MC21 "SA-L", for their old SLR mount, but you are unlikely to accidentally buy that one.

The MC21 is compatible with all Panasonic and Sigma L-Mount bodies. It is also compatible with the Leica SL2 and SL2-s, but not the 2015 SL, or the small-format CL and TL.

There was a Novoflex EOS adapter for the SL, but that shouldn't concern you. Just get an SL2 or later body and you'll be OK.

You will want multishot for tilt-shift. Leica and Panasonic's implementation is widely considered to be the best for full-frame bodies. That's available on the SL2/SL2-s, and most Panasonic Lumix bodies (maybe not the video-focused S1H and BS1H). You might also want to have a close look at Sigma's fp-l body. It doesn't have multishot, but it does have a 60MP sensor and view-camera-like functionality which could be useful for a tilt-shift workflow.

………

Both S and EOS are in the “old” DSLR category, so I think EOS is worth to talk about, especially now it is deeply discounted.
