doubice Posted November 21, 2007 Share #2  Posted November 21, 2007 Any recommendations for something like a 2x?  John,  A tele-converter is an accessory which is used between the lens and the camera body. Since the Digilux 2 does not have an interchangable lens, what you need is a telephoto conversion lens, which is threaded into the front of the Digilux's lens.  The bad news is that, none was ever made. Panasonic made a wide conversion lens for their LC1 but, AFAIK no telephoto. Link to a Panasonic site is here:  Panasonic Search Results  You could try finding a Tele conversion lens with 67mm or 72mm threads (more common than the 69mm of the LC1 and Digilux 2) and use a 69mm to 67mm step-down or 69mm to 72mm step-up adaptor to attach it. Results probably will not be too great.  Best,  Jan

Thanks for the correction.  The bad news is that, none was ever made. Panasonic made a wide conversion lens for their LC1 but, AFAIK no telephoto . . . Anything that could be controlled for?  I found a nice-looking 2x Canon 72mm telephoto conversion lens, at Canon XL2 XL1s XL1 Pro Hi-Def 72mm 2x Telephoto Lens: SAK 72T CAN 47th Street Photo. I'd like to find a 3x conversion. Would results be worse?  Thanks for the help.
rsolomon Posted November 22, 2007 Share #4 Â Posted November 22, 2007 this could also give the digilux3 some cool capability as well,

That is a bit of a generalization, but true in 95% of cases. What you are gaining in convenience, is lost in quality.  The lens that you found at 47th Street Photo is not made by Canon, it is made for Canon or rather advertised as such by 47th St. Photo. At that price I would give it a try - if you are not happy, you can always sell it.  I don't belive you will find a 3x conversion lens - the quality loss would be even greater.  Best,  Jan
