CL Folder numbering

I've had my CL for months now, no real complaints. However, I've just noticed that whenever I connect my SD card to my PC to upload files there is always one folder that contains exactly 123 files. Never more or less, always 123 files exactly. Doesn't bother me that much but what gives here?  All other folders btw go up to 1000 files (not 999 like some cameras) before creating a new folder.
