Marc B-C Posted December 8, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 8, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) For those not aware there is a new update for the Q2 / Q2M. The release notes state it addresses GPS issues. I had an eMail earlier today, so I assume it is new.
Advertisement Posted December 8, 2023 Posted December 8, 2023 Hi Marc B-C, Take a look here Leica Q2 / Q2M - firmware update 5.10. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
ianforber Posted December 8, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 8, 2023 Installed it just now via FOTOS. Irritatingly, this was the first update that wiped my user profiles. I’d been used to the updates via the app not doing that so I didn’t bother save them to an SD card first. Gives me something to do recreating them I suppose! Gives me something to do recreating them I suppose! I was offered the chance to copy the profiles to the card when I did the update from the card. I opted for yes and was able to recover them. Is that option not offered via the App? I always copy my profiles to the card and then to my MacBook when I download photos too. What did annoy me was forgetting to keep a photo on the card before taking one after the update. Numbering has therefore reverted to 001!
ianforber Posted December 8, 2023 Share #4 Posted December 8, 2023 No, for me, the app stopped asking if I wanted to save the profiles a few updates ago but it preserved them so I assumed (falsely) that it was the default behaviour of the app. The update process is so smooth via the app that I always use it now. I updated my M11 recently using the app and it was fine, preserving the profiles without asking me if I wanted to save them. Serves me right for being lazy. In the early days of owning Fuji cameras they would delete settings etc, but Fuji sorted that out. One would think Leica could do that.
