davidrc Posted December 3, 2023 Share #1 Posted December 3, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) I have checked my CL firmware and note it has 4.0. I have seen that the latest was 4.1. Which was some time ago. A report says that 4.1 was done not to add anything but to fix bugs. As far as I am aware, my unit acts as it should. (Apart from the top display does not turn off. Off meaning go blank. If I turn it off in the menu, it will not light up, but settings are visible…..is this correct?) Has anyone had an issue with 4.1 ? And does anyone know what these “bug fixes” were for? I am of the opinion to leave well alone, if indeed all is well. Having so many features I will never get round to using, I couldn’t say for sure. The top display, is that one of the “bugs”? What I don’t want to do is to update and run into trouble……like with Apple phones!! Any help appreciated. Advertisement Posted December 3, 2023 Posted December 3, 2023 Hi davidrc, Take a look here Leica CL and firmware updates…... I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
tommonego@gmail.com Posted December 4, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 4, 2023 I sent my CL into Leica US with an issue with .fw 4.1, it came back with fw 4.0. So I don't think there is a problem. From what I remember 4.1 gave the camera a better/working interface with an updated FOTOS app and added some lens profiles. 0m. If I remember 4.1 was so the camera would work better with the FOTOS app and adding some lenses to profiles. I reloaded 4.1 and don't notice a difference. I mostly use older (1960s-
davidrc Posted December 5, 2023 Author Share #3 Posted December 5, 2023 Thanks for that. Any FW at any time can go wrong, if you are unlucky enough to be the rare one (with Apple I have been). interesting to note that US put 4.0 in. Which says a lot, if only on your particular unit.
