Ffordes are listing a very scarce LTM Dallmeyer 85/2 Dallac lens https://www.ffordes.com/p/SOR-28-066330/leica-screw/85mm-f2-dallmeyer-dallac

Flickr has a series of Dallmeyer 85/2 images which illustrate its interesting imaging characteristics

Beyond my budget but can understand why the lens is sought after

My (limited) experience of Dallmeyer and other 35mm lenses is that they perform as you would expect of such lenses of their day. As collectables they may well have a value which exceeds there ability to produce imagery (neither have sold though!). I have a Dallmeyer 35mm f/4.5 off an Ilford Advocate. I suspect that it performs about as well as a 35mm Elmar from the images that I have taken so far. It was considerably cheaper than the Dallac though , as are Canon 85mm LTM which are potentially quite comparable. FWIW many (relatively early) British built 35mm lenses seem to be on a high valuewise at the moment. I wonder how long this will last?

It's the wide aperture Dallmeyer lenses which are 'box office' ref their 'full aperture soft image "glow" ' That subjective image quality about which some collectors go bananas .   The Advocate's f4.5 is not in the wide aperture category. The Dallmeyer 50mm Septac f1.5 is very sought after by collectors - one example sold at WestLicht Auction for in excess of £30K a few years ago.

Flickr has Septac images which illustrate the 'glow'
