Thank you, but I'ld like to see if the outside is threaded or not.

JC - I’m not sure what you are asking but on the backside view (right side picture in previous post) the black circle is threaded and screws into the viewfinder and rangefinder windows. Attached is a picture of the side-view of the diopter and the back of the camera with the diopters removed. Welcome, dear visitor! Attached is a phot of the markings on the piece. The fact that the accessory case has an exact cut-out for this "Non-Leica" accessory would lead one to believe that the case was in fact custom-made. JC - Also attached is a photo of the "Diopter Rings" Front & Back but there doesn't appear to be any markings showing their strength which in my opinion would be rather odd. Alan - My mistake - There is a 3.5 marking at the bottom of the wide-open FOV that escaped my notice. My original post was noting the Black Etched interior rectangles. You guys are amazing - many thanks Welcome, dear visitor! ssmith Posted November 15, 2023 Author Share #26 Posted November 15, 2023 (edited) FP - Interesting to note the subtle differences in the eyepieces. Yours has holes on the periphery for removal by a pin-wrench while the ones on my camera has horizontal slots for using a blade or slot-wrench. I wont hazard a guess as to which was the earlier incarnation. It is amazing the level of fabrication or machining that went into these tiny pieces which are not much more than glorified trim rings.
