chris55 Posted November 1, 2023 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi. My problem with D-LUX 7 is with the touch screen: when I enable the touch screen, then touching the screen will move the "AF area" to that point on screen, and I cannot activate the actual function on the screen (such as Photo style: STND, etc.). I have tried turning off "Touch PAD AF =OFF", "Touch TAB=ON", "Touch AF = AF", and touching the "Touch AF" to set it to OFF. I also set "Digital zooom = OFF", and of course had "Custom - Operation - Touch setting = ON". What do I need to set to have the touch screen menu available, while DISABLING the moving of the AF-area? thanks, Chris
Advertisement Posted November 1, 2023 Posted November 1, 2023 Hi chris55, Take a look here D-lux 7: How to disable moving the AF area AND having the touch screen menu active?. I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Jim-St Posted December 3, 2023 Share #2 Posted December 3, 2023 There is a work around for this, using the Custom Multi setting to define an AF area, and setting that area as the focus point. It's in the Manual, p.78. I have mine set as Custom Multi option C1: the focus point this gives you is a little bigger than the standard focus point, but it is fixed and won't shift around when you touch the screen. I discovered this using M43 cameras which have had the shifting focus point problem for years. The software in the D7 is almost identical to that in the LX100 MkII, and I guess Leica did minimal customisation. Just a shame that Leica didn't include a workaround like this in the software of the CL and TL, both of which were hobbled by the disappearing focus point.
