rajkerkar Posted November 1, 2023 Share #1 Posted November 1, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi everyone. i am looking for Billingham bag to carry my SL2S with the 24-90mm attached and the 90-280mm standing vertically in the bag. I have the Hadley small pro. I’m not sure which bag is tall enough to take the 90-280mm standing vertically and large enough to carry the SL2-S+24-90 combo (standing comfortably, horizontally on its SD card side). I would appreciate advice from someone who has this combo. Raj

idusidusi Posted November 1, 2023 Share #3 Posted November 1, 2023 The Sl bag is good for the camera and 24-90 but the 90-280 is an issue. Perhaps the Rucksack 25 would also work with the three items.

Coral Palm Posted November 1, 2023 Share #5 Posted November 1, 2023 I will second Robb saying Hadley Pro large. Have had one for years and just seems to last and last.
idusidusi Posted November 1, 2023 Share #6 Posted November 1, 2023 Yes that Billingham should do the trick. I am very happy with my various Billinghams. (Digital, Pro 2020, Rucksack 35).
Jeff S Posted November 1, 2023 Share #7 Posted November 1, 2023 (edited) Advertisement (gone after registration) I prefer the Hadley One for SL kit with 24-90 and 90-280 (vertically). Also has top handle, trolley strap, etc. But I use a shoulder bag with full SL kit (with 2 longer zooms or more) only for transport/travel, typically by car, or for short walks. It’s a heavy load. For any kind of extended hiking, I far prefer a small backpack like the Billingham Rucksack 25. https://billingham.com/products/25-rucksack-for-cameras_colour-khaki-canvas-tan-leather Jeff Edited November 1, 2023 by Jeff S

Coral Palm Posted November 3, 2023 Share #10 Posted November 3, 2023 @Jeff S—Agree for any real distance a backpack is far better. When I hike a ways to shoot possible landscapes do not want a bag hanging off my shoulder a backpack is more streamlined and rides better. Plus I can throw in a jacket, snacks,… There is no perfect bag for everything , just like no perfect camera yet all us here on the forum pretty much like Leica. 😅
rajkerkar Posted November 3, 2023 Author Share #11 Posted November 3, 2023 Hi everyone Thanks for your tips. Personally, I WAS seriously considering Hadley One. I reached out to the guys at Billingham (UK) and they said that the Hadley Large more appropriately tolerates the load os the SL kit (SL2 + both SL Zooms) as compared to the Hadley One. Am still mulling over this before I bite the bullet on this one. Cheers
robb Posted November 4, 2023 Share #12 Posted November 4, 2023 I have a Hadley large and a Hadley pro large. I’ll try to show you a photo Sunday for what they look like with your combo. I generally don’t use the tripod foot on the 90-280 often which saves some space. Robb

Bag (and pack) threads are ubiquitous for this reason, and of course because of individual tastes and preferences. 95% of the time, however, I carry no bag whatsoever, and mostly use for travel or transport (car/air), not during actual shooting. (I mostly use the M system.) Unfortunately the other 5% requires different bag characteristics depending on gear, weather conditions and travel/transport requirements. Hence I have multiple bags/packs, which mostly sit idle. Of all my photo-related expenses (including processing and print needs), bags provide the least bang for the buck (particularly since I tend to like Fogg and Billingham…$$). Oh well.
