Vertical line workaround

Some of my images show a vertical line as described in several posts on this forum.

I has up till last week only been occuring occasionally but is gradually getting more frequent and now exists, although most often not visible in normal viewing, on quite a few of the images.

 

I guess that sooner or later I will send the camera in for service but since I don't really want to do without it until I can buy a spare I'll wait and see if anything else develops.

 

After this lengthy introduction, in case somebody else is in a similar situation I have a

workaround in the form of a simple photoshop action which replaces the pixels in the line with an average of the ones to the left and right of it.

It only takes a second to run and does the job quite effectively.

 

If anybody wants to use the action as a template, I can send it as an email attchment (2k)

The pixel values in the select statement would obviously need to be changed
