A bit more affordable set would be TTArtisan 28mm f5.6 Voigtländer Nokton 35mm f1.4 ii Zeiss C-Sonnar 50mm f1.5 All excellent and IMO interesting lenses. -Thomas

What would you put to the wider and longer ends, either to maintain consistency or to provide alternatives in terms of rendering? I'm renting the Steel Rim this week, and fantasizing about what life would be like with it as my main lens instead of my 35 FLE. Right now, my M kit is almost all ASPH, and built around consistency; almost everything I own is pretty modern. But I'm starting to imagine a kit that has more variety in rendering and lens type. Something like: 24 SEM 28 Summaron 35 Steel Rim 50 Lux ASPH or Cron v5 Four lenses, all quite different, covering the range I like to shoot most. But maybe you'd aim for something different. What are the equivalents of the Steel Rim in wider and longer focal lengths? Would it be something like 28 Summaron, 50 Lux Pre-ASPH? What kind of kit would you build with the SR at the center? As for the 50, I would pair it with a Summicron 1956 Rigid as a lovely old lens. No need for wider unless an old 21/4.0 could be used or even the 28/5.6 reissue, but I'd prefer just a 35 and 50. NO FLE. so I combine the Steel Rim with the Summilux f1.4/75mm Nice choice. Congrats.
69xchange Posted March 22, 2024 Share #25 Posted March 22, 2024 (edited) I love my 75mm lux v1. It’s not as glowly as the SR reissue, but still pretty dam impressive for a 1980’s lens even at wide open. Welcome, dear visitor!
