I can see how to drag the histogram to the bottom corner.  But anyone know how to reduce the size of it….and stop the flickering it does?

i have seen on utube it much smaller and a smooth normal 2d representation.  That only “moves” when the users moves it.

Mine is large and flickers about as if measuring in real time.

Hi, what I saw on the training video (Leica Australia, v good tutorials) was quite small, so it looked static.

i think a better description would be to say that the histogram rises and falls with light values and seemingly flickers.

i think the histogram is unnecessarily large. Playing up to the basic amateur.

also, the relative size and shape is not quite the same on the EVF apposed to the LCD.  Very much in your face is the EVF version.

They have that the wrong way around if anything.

it’s a shame, spoils an excellent camera. And not helpful to the experienced user.

I will probably turn it off completely. I am finding that the exposure is so accurate you don’t really need it.

combine preview and highlights warning and it maybe all one needs.

After reading this thread, I agree the exposure with the camera is excellent. The histogram in the EVF doesn't bother me but I am thinking of just shutting it off, as I use it rarely.

Hi,

Perhaps you should give it a try….read my recent post yesterday on just that subject because I have and now using just the digital scale, in the time served old fashioned method, - 0 + and adjusting for any non average scene that the meter is trying to set to grey….the obvious bright and dark scene…just as we used to do before digital.

Any Leica camera, seems to still adhere to that metering principle.  Modern “smart” algorithms are just gimmicks, they don’t really work leaving us often with PP to do.
Use your experience without the big H, and use the scale to 0….and then tweak.  There is such latitude in the sensor, you will not go far wrong….but you will soon het the hang of it.
