Hi, I read or watched some reviews before I bought the Q3 ... they all said you don't need a secound battery and that it's so amazing to have a usbc..

well, in practice I'm very disapointed from this battery it's almost bad as my Fuji X100V only that with the Fuji it's small and you can buy 5 of them 3rd party for noting.

I ordered another battery for the Q3 but I will need at least one more.  A street photography walk for 4 hrs and you the mighty Q3 is dead.

As in other threads in this topic, which you can find below, some people can go for much, much longer, and others have a similar usage rate.

One solution is to switch off all the gizmos and live aid options and see how the battery performs after that.

Also IIRC the instruction book says that the battery will need a couple of complete full charge to empty cycles before it starts to work efficiently.

hi

i had the exact same experience see previous post. i also read lots of pieces where Q3 owners were raving about the battery life... a whole day of shooting and still 1/4 battery remaining for example. i also have an x100V and agree the batteries are a lot cheaper and lighter. I should also say i had disabled all the obvious energy sapping settings, bluetooth, OIS etc off and evf extended only. Can i ask which memory card you are using? i got my Q3 just before going on holiday to california and i was getting anything from 65 - 130 shots per fully charged battery, luckily i had 3 of the new leica batteries,  but as you say on a normal full day shooting i was getting through all three. i took the camera into leica LA store and they tested but couldnt find anything wrong. when i got back to london i took the camera to the leica shop in mayfair. after further testing  they asked which card i used. i had been using two new kingston 128gb SDXC 170mb which i use for the fuji,. they suggested trying a better card so i tried a  sandisk 256 gb extreme 80mb card and instantly i noticed a big improvement and felt relief that at last i had fiugured out what th eissue was . on the first battery aftre switching to the sandisk i got over 3OO shots. since then i havent had the chance to be be out much but the last 3 days of typical shooting i made a note when each battery depleted and i got 236 shots, 121 shots and 270 shots on fully charged batteries, so better but still not great, inconsistent and leaving me feeling less than confident about what i am gonna get.
