red LED on the rear panel keeps flashing intermittently

Recommended Posts

Thanks for answering. In my case, being turned off is when it does it the most and I think it consumes my battery. When turned on, it only does so when it is going to write on the card and so on. I have two batteries and two SD cards. I have done various tests and I can't get it to turn off when I turn off my camera.

That's a good thing to check, i'm surprised it would do anything with the camera switched off though. but that said, i've noticed that when my camera is off and a remove / reinsert the battery or SD card the light comes on for a second. I thought that was weird.

I have the LED disabled in the menus system so it doesn't come on while i'm shooting pictures but the LED activity is weird and probably indicates that the camera isn't fully off but rather in some deep sleep / standby state.

I have the WLAN disabled. Also the GPS. They were the first tests I checked.

I also have the LED disabled. Sometimes when I remove the cover and change the card or take out the battery, when I put everything back in, it doesn't flash for a few minutes and then it goes back to the same thing, a little slower at first and as time goes by, faster as always. does. I have two batteries and it does the same thing with both of them. I'm going to try to try another battery. It will be difficult for me to find one here but I will try.

Very strange. Something is definitely "waking up" your camera all the time. It could be a problem with the battery or battery contacts, but I think you should notice it when taking pictures. Cleaning the battery and card compartments with compressed air could be good idea. But it could also be the SD card. What card brand/type do you use and have you tried with a different card? Will the camera do the same LED flashing even when there is no card in the camera?

Hello Mujk I think I cleaned the battery contacts on the camera but I'll do it again and on the battery too. I have tried removing the card and it continues to do so. Sometimes when I remove the battery and put it in, it takes a while to flash but after a short time it starts again. I have set the camera to factory settings and everything is still the same. I want to try another battery but it's difficult for me to find one here. I keep looking to see what happens. I have the LED turned off in the configuration, also the WLAN. I don't know what other option I should modify. The camera works perfectly except for this problem of the LED flashing when it is off, which causes the battery to consume faster.

try to remove the battery for few days? i've got the same problem with you. tried everything, didn't work. then i leave the camera in the dry box for 2 weeks, remove the battery. stay disconnected. now it works normal again. strange! but it works for me.
