ChrisQ3 Posted September 28, 2023 Share #1 Posted September 28, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Hi, I’ve hunted in the manual, however I cannot see where I change the Color Space on the Q3. (sRGB or Adobe RGB). Could someone point me in the right direction please? Thank you!
Advertisement Posted September 28, 2023 Posted September 28, 2023 Hi ChrisQ3, Take a look here Color Space sRGB or Adobe RGB . I'm sure you'll find what you were looking for!
Marc B-C Posted September 28, 2023 Share #2 Posted September 28, 2023 (edited) For the Q2 It is in menu 3 under JPEG settings. If you use DNG am not sure there is an option. Edited September 28, 2023 by Marc B-C

I’ll keep hunting…

If you’re going to edit files you’ll edit the raw.

Thanks again.

Thanks again. 100% the raw files are in Adobe RGB. You can’t shoot raw srgb. I had the same concern with my original Q in 2015. The srgb jpegs look really good and it’s ready to share. Like I said you’re not going to shoot jpegs in abobe RGB to edit them later.

The space you work in and the space you export images to depend on your raw converter and its settings.
elmars Posted September 28, 2023 Share #9 Posted September 28, 2023 A RAW file (also DNG) has no assigned color space, so no AdobeRGB either. A color space is only added in the RAW converter or when converting to another file format, such as JPG. With JPG, sRGB and AdobeRGB are possible. In the past, it was also possible to select which of these should be used in the Leica. Leica has abandoned this because AdobeRGB leads to poor colors on many end devices, because the larger color space of AdobeRGB is only inadequately converted to sRGB by browsers, for example.
