Photoworks Posted November 18, 2023 Share #21 Posted November 18, 2023 Advertisement (gone after registration) Thunderbolt is a different tech from USB-C. All Mac products a limited to 10 Gb/s per port. a faster drive and cable does not increase trueput. OWC makes a test app for the iPhone. The original cable can not even do 4k 60fms and get an average of 43Mb/s, other cables can do 4k 200fs and speeds of 600-800Mb/s the USB-C 40 Gb/s cable gives you the same high speed of 600-800 MB/s the Thunderbolt 3 cable, that is 8feet long, give me 300-400 MB/s In reality, none of this matters if you are trying to USE the FOTOS app. Only connection over the Apple MFI works to connect with cable. Not so many USB-C cables will work. I find the wireless connection of 5Ghz with FOTOS app the best solution to load a few images. If you need speed use a different software. I use Capture One to download and tether on iPhone and iPad. Every USB cable above works, even my 33ft cable.
